REACH for Coal Chemicals (R4CC) |

Cefic “Coal Chemicals Europe (CCE)” is the industry association organising regulatory discussions on coal chemicals with European Authorities and Rapporteur Member States.
The REACH regulation entered into force in June 2007 and most coal derived chemicals are subject to a European registration under REACH. The member companies of CCE accepted the responsibility to organise the REACH process for coal chemicals and invited all stakeholders to participate.
The “REACH for Coal Chemicals (R4CC)” consortium was formed to be the platform for this cooperation. All companies having REACH obligations as “Manufacturers” or “Importers” and “Only Representatives” were invited to join “R4CC” as Member. The applicable substance information exchange forums (SIEFs) was allocated after clarifying the substance identity. “Downstream Users” of REACH-regulated coal chemicals having an interest in receiving progress reports on registration dossiers and providing exposure information for the “Chemical Safety Assessment” (CSA) were invited to join as Associate Members.
This site informs all interested parties on relevant topics related to the REACH registration of coal chemicals and the covered substance inventory.
Pre– Registration of Coal Chemicals
The pre– registration period ended December 1, 2008. R4CC analysed as follows:
Number of pre- registered coal chemicals: 221 Number of companies having pre– registered: 955 Number of pre– registrations: 8667
R4CC Members act as Lead Registrants for the registered substances of the attached substance inventories. Reference is made to other consortia when applicable.
